Jill Nolan learned the Art of Millinery by the ancient method of apprenticeship in the 1950's in Melbourne's Flinders Lane and achieved the status of Model Milliner.

Jill filled her life with a nursing career and children of her own then went on to become a qualified teacher holding a Diploma of Education from the University of Melbourne.

Jill founded Ascot School of Millinery in 1993 in the leafy Melbourne suburb of Balwyn.
Students came from far and wide, all walks of life.
Ascot grew to be the leading house of learning the Art of Millinery in Victoria, perhaps even the whole of Australia.

Many of Jills students have their own sucessful businesses in the trade.

Ascot School of Millinery is now located in Mansfield, Victoria, teaching through instructional DVD's, Video's also designing and supplying materials for do it yourself kits.

  • Australian Gown of the Year 1995 - Bridal section.

  • Students have won many awards over the years including a Winston Churchill Fellowship Award.
